Dewey’s 24h #readathon; intro meme and book pile!

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
I’m from Zoetermeer (Sweet Lake (City)), The Netherlands, Europe. It’s an average town, near The Hague (our political ‘capital’) and I live near the southern edge, close to the woods!
2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
That is a hard one! I’ve got a sweet mix of informational, spiritual, science and fiction. They each have their own perks. But a friend lend me a comic book explaining chemistry, which I’d love for the night! And I’m happy to finally read ‘Game of Thrones’ from ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’. It’s been on the list for a long time, and I love the show so far and I pledged on Hank Green’s ReadIt1st, so kinda have to ;-).
3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
Uuuuuhm…Homemade biscotti with good GOOD espresso/coffee. I will take a baking break somewhere in the morning. Aaand my tomatosoup with udon. At some point. I forgot to buy leeks. Dangit! π
4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
I’m 25 years old, catlady (4 cats, 2 of them will turn 12 in a few days!), pagan, quite crafty, a foodie, just done with rehabilitation that I did because I’m chronically ill. I have fibromyalgia (a chronic pain syndrome) which is accompanied by chronic fatigue. I also have ADHD, so that coffee I’ll be drinking a lot of will actually calm me (but, keep me awake. Yes, our brains are weird and different. Yaaaay! )
I am a coffee fan, wannabe nerd, kind of a geek and becoming more and more politically active (social, feminist). I don’t mind cleaning, laundry, love cooking, sowing, growing my own plants, knitting, etc. I run two cooking blogs which have been neglected during winter/rehabilitation π³ . I’m nicknamed Spamantha because as you can see, I like to talk a lot π . I just finished a 4-week shamanism ‘training’ and I love tarot and meditation.
Aaaand a minor warning: if you plan on reading the rest of my blog, head’s up, it’s journaling since 2005 (I was 17) and I talk about EVERYTHING, including my teen angst, serious depressions, rants and my a-typical sex life π .
5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, whatβs one thing youβll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
Don’t read the book with the long sentences in the early morning after being up for nearly 24 hours! I tried reading Tolkien at 7am last time. Which is why I will start with George R. R. Martin now π . I ended up with an audiobook which I fell asleep to halfway in. Starting at 3pm is kinda tricky, but I tried sleeping in today. I will definitely plan naps and food. Do yoga. And this time I DIDN’T forget the coffee. Hallelujah. And I will try to get #catladiesofreadathon a thing again π
Oh, and turn off my tweetdeck alerts, so I won’t be mostly reading the internet instead of books π .
Orange Crush, lemon ice!
Read them once, read them twice!
Read them high, read them low!

I am! It’s an easy read, somehow didn’t expect that? (A lot of people say it’s dull! Must be because he’s so desinterested?)
Hi there from a fellow cat lady! Looks like you have a great selection of books to choose from. I hope the read-a-thon is going great!
Jenn and The Cats *Team Panda*
Haven’t read much but I’m doing great, loving the people and chats as usual! Hopefully I can get some reading done now! π
